Detroit 1932 - 1997 Kairo
1975
Collage with a US Liberty coin on black tissue paper
49x49 cm
Signed and titled by the artist in gold pencil in the centre "James Lee Byars / Luck"
Impeccable condition
Who is not happy about a coin found by chance on the ground? This is generally regarded as a moment of luck. The lucky coin in the wallet is supposed to prevent its owner from ever running out of money. Byars adopts this custom and places the coin in an ironically oversized frame
1975
Collage mit einer US-Liberty-Münze auf schwarzem Seidenpapier
49x49 cm
