isolated spots along the outer edges, fresh in colours and in immaculate overall condition

Commentaires

A self-portrait at the easel, holding the palette and various brushes. The lovers in the painting are crowned by a shining sun as they float over an imaginary city. The picture makes reference to a composition from 1949. The artist’s right hand is in full motion with the brush, an indication of his ongoing engagement with the topic. The scene may be taking place in an indoor space, but since there is no visible boundary between it and the blue background, it may also be set in an open, boundless space. The composition is surrounded by a sketched frame. A very attractive, freely drawn work

Erläuterungen

Ein Selbstporträt an der Staffelei, in der Hand die Palette und verschiedene Pinsel. Das Liebespaar auf der Staffelei wird von einer leuchtenden Sonne bekrönt, schwebend über einer imaginären Stadt. Das dargestellte Bild verweist auf eine Bildkomposition von 1949. Des Künstlers rechte Hand ist in voller Bewegung mit dem Pinsel, ein Hinweis auf die weitergehende kontinuierliche Auseinandersetzung mit dem Thema. Die Szene kann sich in einem Innenraum abspielen; da mit dem blauen Hintergrund aber keine eigentliche Begrenzung sichtbar ist, kann sie auch im freien, grenzenlosen Gedankenraum stattfinden. Die Komposition wird eingefasst von einem gezeichneten Rahmen. Sehr schöne Arbeit mit freier zeichnerischer Qualität
