The set of 80 etchings in the 5th edition on laid paper, with the watermark "JOSEPH GUARRO" and lock in the centre, the title page and the introductory text taken over from the 3rd edition. In impeccable overall condition
The series "Los Desastres de la Guerra", which Goya created in 1810 after his own experiences during the occupation of Madrid by French troops, the revolt in Madrid in the same year and after experiences during the great Madrid famine in the winter of 1811-1812, could not be published during his lifetime for political reasons; the first edition was published in 1863.
