Frank Buchser stayed in Morocco from mid-July to the end of September 1858. Buchser thus satisfied his longing for an unaffected life beyond European civilisation. The present work is probably based on impressions that the painter captured there.

Frank Buchser weilte von Mitte Juli bis Ende September 1858 in Marokko. Buchser stillte so seine Sehnsucht nach einem ungekünstelten Leben jenseits europäischer Zivilisation. Das vorliegende Werk dürfte auf Eindrücke zurückgehen, die der Maler dort eingefangen hat
