Commentaires

One of the important leaves from the series of early works which Klee called "leaves in the strict style". They were produced in Berne from summer 1903 to March 1905 and were all printed by Max Girardet. The sheet was published partly with and partly without numbering in an edition of 50 copies. The number of known numberless sheets leads to the assumption that the edition was not completely numbered and only came into circulation signed

Erläuterungen

Eines der wichtigen Blätter aus der Reihe der Frühwerke, die Klee "Blätter im strengen Stil" nannte. Sie sind vom Sommer 1903 bis März 1905 in Bern entstanden und wurden alle von Max Girardet gedruckt. Das Blatt erschien teilweise mit, teilweise ohne Nummerierung in einer Auflage von 50 Exemplaren. Die Anzahl der bekannten Blätter ohne Nummerierung lässt die Annahme zu, dass die Auflage nicht gänzlich durchnummeriert wurde und lediglich signiert in den Handel kam
