Commentaires

Known primarily for his depictions of animals and landscapes, the Lake Constance painter also occasionally created portraits of people from his immediate surroundings. In the present work, however, one can see in the background the shore landscape and the water of the lake under a lovely blue sky

Der vor allem für seine Tier- und Landschaftsdarstellungen bekannte Bodenseemaler schuf gelegentlich auch Porträts von Personen aus seinem nahen Umfeld. Beim vorliegenden Werk sieht man im Hintergrund gleichwohl die Uferlandschaft und das Wasser des Sees unter einem lieblich blauen Himmel
