Condition

On heavy Japanese paper, in clean condition, fresh colours, mounted along the edges on a light cardboard, with open backside. The light monotype reworked with watercolour in intensive colours

Commentaires

The sheet was produced during Paul Gauguin's stay in France between his two stays in the South Seas from August 1893 until February 1895. From April to December 1894 Gauguin stayed in Pont-Aven and Le Poldu in Brittany, accompanied by his Javanese companion Anna

Erläuterungen

Das Blatt entstand während des Aufenthaltes von Paul Gauguin in Frankreich zwischen den beiden Aufenthalten in der Südsee von August 1893 bis Februar 1895. Von April bis Dezember 1894 hielt sich Gauguin in Pont-Aven und in Le Poldu in der Bretagne auf, in Begleitung der Javanerin Anna
