Our fields of focus include 19th and 20th century art as well as contemporary art. The auctions include paintings, sculptures, drawings, graphic art and illustrated books. We also focus on Swiss art and regularly auction Old Master prints and drawings.
Buyers at our auctions value the high quality of the art and the incomparable expertise and binding service offered by our auction house. Our offerings are distinguished by fresh-to-market, rare works in very good condition.
Catalogues prepared based on the lastes scientific findings are published for every auction. These catalogues are ready in the first half of May, a good month before the auctions. Printed catalogues are sent to our loyal customers. Catalogue orders are welcome. All catalogues are also available online.
The online catalogues have added advantages such as a text search function, bigger images and images providing additional details. You can also create your personal profile at myKORNFELD for setting up searches and bid lists and for submitting written and telephone bids.
Auction items are exhibited in Bern and Zurich in the run-up to the auctions. There you can personally inspect the quality and condition of the artworks. Selected artworks are available in the preview at our Zurich branch, while all the works on auction are shown in Bern. The preview exhibition dates are announced from mid-February.
We would be happy to send a report describing the condition of an artwork to interested buyers who cannot attend the preview exhibition. We would ask you to send us your request as early as possible and to note that condition reports are drawn up in accordance with our Conditions for Buyers and do not provide any guarantees or warranties.
Galerie Kornfeld Auktionen AG is a partner of The Art Loss Register. All artworks that can be clearly identified and with an estimate of at least EUR 1,000 are checked against the Register’s database before the auctions.
