Teruko Yokoi studied, among other places, in San Francisco and New York, and in her work combined influences of Abstract Expressionism with Japanese aesthetics, calligraphy, and natural motifs. After stays in Tokyo, New York, and Paris, she settled in Bern in 1962, where she lived until her death.

Erläuterungen

Teruko Yokoi studierte unter anderem in San Francisco und New York und verband in ihrem Werk Einflüsse des abstrakten Expressionismus mit japanischer Ästhetik, Kalligrafie und Naturmotiven. Nach Aufenthalten in Tokio, New York und Paris liess sie sich 1962 in Bern nieder, wo sie bis zu ihrem Tod lebte.
