    Comments

The human nude occupies a central position in Wilhelm Lehmbruck's sculptural and plastic oeuvre. The artist also translated this motif, in varied form, into fine etchings. The print works, created predominantly between 1912 and 1915, reflect the melancholic, elongated formal language of his sculptures and at the same time illustrate his masterful use of the drypoint technique, which is characterized by precise and clear lines.
