    Comments

Henri-Joseph Harpignies was a French landscape painter and graphic artist of the Barbizon school. He became especially well known for his atmospheric depictions of river landscapes. From 1852, Harpignies worked in a studio in Paris. The beautiful and high-quality depiction shows a bridge over the Seine near Paris. There is bustling activity on the bridge, with many people on the move. On the riverbank, a group of men can be seen fishing together.
