    Comments

As early as around 1918, Eugène Nestor de Kermadec joined the Cubist movement. In addition to portraits and nudes, he also created abstract landscape paintings. However, the present work stands out from the artist's other works with its dynamic, bloody subject. Bullfighting was already a popular subject for his forerunner Pablo Picasso. Here, Eugène Nestor de Kermadec takes up the theme and vividly expresses the chaotic, perfidious atmosphere of bullfights.
