Balthasar Burkhard shaped photography in Switzerland and far beyond its borders. In addition to cities and the human body, his special interest was also in animals, which he captured life-size in his black-and-white photographs. The present falcon wing also shows that Burkhard, with an unusual perspective and his own image section, enables a new way of seeing.

Balthasar Burkhard prägte die Fotografie in der Schweiz und weit über ihre Grenzen hinaus. Neben Städten und dem menschlichen Körper galt sein besonderes Interesse auch den Tieren, die er mit seinen schwarz-weissen Fotografien lebensgross festhielt. Der vorliegende Falkenflügel zeigt darüber hinaus, dass Burkard mit einer ungewöhnlichen Perspektive und einem eigenen Bildausschnitt eine neue Art des Sehens ermöglicht.
