With craquelures, most pronounced in the black areas. The purple shows age-related discolouration. In fine, fresh condition

Comments

The present work is composed of rhythmically arranged forms that function like a visual grid. In "Magic 10", the number 10 becomes the organizing principle of the composition, uniting color, form, and structure into a complex pictorial space. If you add up the dots in each row and column, the result is always the number 10. Jensen understood numbers not only mathematically, but also as bearers of spiritual and universal meanings.

Erläuterungen

Das vorliegende Werk ist aus rhythmisch angeordneten Formen aufgebaut, die wie ein visuelles Raster wirken. In "Magic 10" wird die Zahl 10 zum ordnenden Prinzip der Komposition und verbindet Farbe, Form und Struktur zu einem komplexen Bildraum. Rechnet man die Punkte der einzelnen Zeilen und Spalten zusammen, ergibt sich immer wieder die Zahl 10. Jensen verstand Zahlen nicht nur mathematisch, sondern auch als Träger spiritueller und universeller Bedeutungen.
