    Comments

The American Norman Bluhm is considered one of the founders of Abstract Expressionism. In 1951, he went to Paris and was inspired there by Sam Francis, but soon returned to the USA. The genre of Action Painting, for which Jackson Pollock is known, is also reflected in Bluhm's work. The spontaneously applied brushstrokes and the intermingling, partly dripping forms result in a lively, dynamic composition. Exemplary of Abstract Expressionism of the 1960s.
