Along the edges with slight rubbing from an earlier framing. Overall in fine condition
Dominique-Paul Peyronnet only began painting around 1920, after his career as a professional printer. His oeuvre comprises only thirty paintings; he is known for his landscapes and seascapes. Still lifes are extremely rare. The present work is characterized by a realistic, yet slightly stylized depiction of various vegetables and a fruit on a table against a brown background. It impresses with the meticulous attention to detail that the artist brings to the canvas: note the skin texture of the melon or the stems of the tomatoes or eggplants. The composition appears orderly, the surface smooth and enamel-like. Stylistically, Peyronnet’s works belong to Naive Art or Naive Realism, as this example strikingly demonstrates.

Insgesamt in sehr schöner Erhaltung
