    Comments

The rarely large watercolour shows the view from Schooren (Kilchberg) with the rising sun over Lake Zurich. From 1928 to 1932, Meyer lived very close by in Zurich-Wollishofen with the widow of Albert Freytag, professor at the Zurich School of Applied Arts, at Kilchbergstrasse 9. According to past exhibition catalogues, a second version of this subject, "Schooren II", is known.
