Impeccable cast with light brown patina, rubbed in places

Comments

The figure is a unique piece, as Marcks destroyed the plaster model according to his work diary. The model was Hans Schorling, who was a friend of the artist’s eldest son.

Die Figur ist ein Unikat, da Marcks das Gipsmodell laut seinem Werktagebuch zerstört hat. Modell sass Hans Schorling, der ein Freund des ältesten Sohns des Künstlers war.
