The nude drawings by Marino Marini from the 1940s are characterized by dynamic linework and expressiveness. The female nude, alongside the equestrian depictions, is among the well-known motifs in Marini’s oeuvre. Particularly famous are his female figures under the name "Pomona", named after the Etruscan goddess of fertility. They reflect Marini’s engagement with Etruscan art, whose influence is also evident in his nude drawings. The three nudes radiate primal vitality, sensual abundance, and at the same time tranquility. Through their archaic formal language, the figures possess a timeless presence.
