    Comments

Between 1907 and 1910, Paul Klee created several drawings featuring the Ostermundigen quarry as their subject. He was likely fascinated both by the impressive appearance of the rugged sandstone walls and the distinctive structures of the excavation. Thanks to technical innovations, especially the use of modern slewing cranes, production could be significantly increased. The motif of the crane here also serves as a symbol of technological progress.

Rare. Only 4 examples are listed in the catalogue raisonné.

Selten. Es sind im Werkverzeichnis lediglich 4 Exemplare aufgeführt.
