Comments

The sheet shows a scene on the Stafelalp in the summer of 1919. A large-format, expressive woodcut with three figures: a boy, an older shepherd, and a woman. At the right edge, the horse "Nini" belonging to the Müller family.

Rare sheet; for the second state, Gercken records only four copies, including the present one.

Erläuterungen

Das Blatt zeigt eine Darstellung auf der Stafelalp im Sommer 1919. Ein grossformatiger, ausdrucksstarker Holzschnitt mit drei Figuren: einem Jungen, einem älteren Hirten sowie einer Frau. Am Rand rechts das Pferd "Nini" der Familie Müller.

Seltenes Blatt, Gercken sind vom II. Zustand nur vier Exemplare bekannt, darunter das vorliegende.
