Trial proof of the rare first state before the faceting of the plate. Only two copies of this are known.

Originally, the etching was intended as an illustration in the unpublished publication "3 poèmes, suivi de Mais si la mort n'était qu'un mot" by René Crevel.

The sheet from the edition was included with the deluxe copies of the exhibition catalogue "Alberto Giacometti" of Galerie Klipstein & Kornfeld, Bern, from 18 July to 22 August 1959. Printed by Georges Visat, Paris.

Probedruck des seltenen ersten Zustandes vor der Facettierung der Platte. Es sind hiervon lediglich zwei Exemplare bekannt geworden.

Ursprünglich war die Radierung für eine Illustration in der nicht veröffentlichten Publikation "3 poèmes, suivi de Mais si la mort n'était qu'un mot" von René Crevel vorgesehen.

Das Blatt der Auflage lag den Vorzugsexemplaren des Ausstellungskataloges "Alberto Giacometti" der Galerie Klipstein & Kornfeld, Bern, vom 18. Juli bis 22. August 1959, bei. Gedruckt von Georges Visat, Paris.
