The print "Der gute Samariter" is among the important French graphic works of the 19th century and is at the same time probably the most beautiful and significant graphic work by the artist. The print was published in 1882 in an edition of fifty copies.
In designing the motifs, the artist gave free rein to his imagination. Thus, Rodolphe Bresdin is undoubtedly to be regarded as a forerunner of Surrealism.

Blatt minim gewellt, mit leichten Griffspuren und kaum sichtbaren Stockflecken im unteren Rand ausserhalb der Darstellung. In sehr guter Erhaltung
Das Blatt "Der gute Samariter" zählt zu den wichtigen französischen Grafikblättern des 19. Jahrhunderts und ist gleichzeitig wohl die schönste und bedeutendste grafische Arbeit des Künstlers. Die Druckgrafik wurde 1882 in einer Auflage von fünfzig Exemplaren herausgegeben.
Bei der Gestaltung der Motive liess der Künstler seiner Fantasie freien Lauf. Dadurch ist Rodolphe Bresdin zweifelsohne als ein Vorläufer des Surrealismus anzusehen.
