Slight grip marks. Verso with remnants of an old mounting and rubbing
Max Beckmann recorded New Year's Eve at Grete Skalla's, a teacher living in Graz who was friends with Minna Beckmann-Tube (depicted in the center), in two works. The sketch "Sylvesterabend (Skizze Sylvester 1)" from the Hans Kinkel Collection is now in the collection of the Germanisches Nationalmuseum in Nuremberg. The ladies are seated at the table, holding a Kasperle puppet and seem to be quite cheerful.

Leichte Griffknicke.
