    Comments

One of 100 copies of the edition.

"Glaneurs" were women who collected what was left on the fields after the harvest, such as individual potatoes, ears of corn, or maize cobs. The kneeling woman depicted, with a white bonnet and Breton costume, appears to be fully focused on her work on a tranquil evening in 1894. The peaceful scene shows a section of the landscape in Brittany in an impressive light atmosphere, which Armand Séguin was able to create masterfully through differentiated light-dark effects and finely graded brown tones.
