    Barely visible light-struck area. Small spots in the paper. The reverse slightly browned in the paper. In very good condition

    Comments

    The small variant of the theme 'Das kranke Kind' (see lots 757 and 174 in the catalogue '100 Ausgewählte Kunstwerke'). Munch depicts his sister Johanne Sophie (1862-1877), who died of tuberculosis, an event which had a lasting impact on him.

    Kaum sichtbarer Lichtrand. Kleine Fleckchen im Papier. Die Rückseite leicht im Papier gebräunt. In sehr guter Erhaltung

    Erläuterungen

    Die kleine Variante des Themas "Das kranke Kind" (vgl. Los 757 und Los 174 aus dem Katalog "100 Ausgewählte Kunstwerke"). Munch stellt seine an Tuberkulose verstorbene Schwester Johanne Sophie (1862-1877) dar, deren Tod ihn nachhaltig prägte.
