Comments

The "Pasadena Box Suite" was created between 1963 and 1965 and was published in an edition of 100 copies. It comprised a group of lithographs in various formats and on different papers, as well as a work in acrylic and gouache on a postcard in plexiglass, each assembled in an acrylic box specially designed for this project. Most of the original works were painted in Tokyo on a Japanese postcard of the "APOLLO" brand. Upon its release in 1966, the complete "Pasadena Box" was offered for sale to support the museum. Many of the complete sets have been split up and sold separately over the years, including the present work.

Erläuterungen

Die "Pasadena Box Suite" entstand zwischen 1963 und 1965 und erschien in einer Auflage von 100 Exemplaren. Sie umfasste ein Konvolut an Lithographien unterschiedlichen Formats und auf unterschiedlichen Papieren sowie eine Arbeit in Acryl und Gouache auf einer Postkarte in Plexiglas, zusammengefasst je in einer speziell für dieses Projekt entworfenen Acrylbox. Die meisten Originalarbeiten wurden in Tokyo auf eine japanische Postkarte der Marke "APOLLO" gemalt. Bei der Veröffentlichung im Jahre 1966 wurde die komplette "Pasadena Box" zur Unterstützung des Museums zum Verkauf angeboten. Viele der kompletten Sets wurden im Laufe der Jahre aufgelöst und separat verkauft, darunter das vorliegende Werk.
