The work belongs to the main body of the skinning "Herrenzimmer" (1977-1979) and is part of the most important piece from the group of "Raumhäutungen". Bucher cast the wall paneling, the cupboards, or as in the present work, the parquet floor of the Herrenzimmer in her bourgeois parents' house in Winterthur-Wülflingen in the canton of Zurich with latex on fabric. For this, she used gauze covered with latex and painted with colors. Once the latex had set, the surfaces were "gehäutet" in a laborious process.

Das Werk gehört zum Hauptwerk der Häutung "Herrenzimmer" (1977-1979) und ist Teil der wichtigsten Arbeit aus der Gruppe der "Raumhäutungen". Bucher goss die Wandtäfelungen, die Schränke oder wie bei der vorliegenden Arbeit den Parkettboden des Herrenzimmers ihres gutbürgerlichen Elternhauses in Winterhur-Wülflingen im Kanton Zürich mit Latex auf Stoff ab. Dazu verwendete sie mit Latex bedeckte und mit Farben bemalte Gaze. War der Latex fest, wurden die Oberflächen in einem mühsamen Prozess "gehäutet".
