Condition

Light marks outside the plate mark. Studio traces and traces of old mounting in the margins. In the upper sheet margin left of centre a minimal paper loss. In very good overall condition.

Comments

The sheet is among the outstanding self-portraits within his printed oeuvre. It was issued only in a small edition as well as in a few trial proofs and is today of great rarity. An impressive work that captivates both technically and in terms of psychological depth.

Das Blatt zählt zu den herausragenden Selbstbildnissen innerhalb seines druckgraphischen Œuvres. Es erschien nur in kleiner Auflage sowie in wenigen Probedrucken und ist heute von grosser Seltenheit. Eine eindrucksvolle Arbeit, die sowohl in technischer Hinsicht wie auch psychologischer Tiefe besticht.
