    Comments

At an early age, Bram Bogart began painting, or rather modelling, with large lumps of encrusted matter - usually a mixture of pigments, oil, glue and watercolour. Their three-dimensionality gives the works an intense physical presence. Such "abstractions" can weigh up to 300 kg each and often require floor supports. They are usually works with few colours, creating an almost monochrome impression. In the work on offer, the colour scheme is also limited to red and black. Bogart created the wall sculpture on the occasion of ArtBasel 2006, where it was sold directly to the current owner.
