Fine impression, the paper minimally browned, with scattered stains in the outer margin. Traces of old mounting on the verso. In very good condition

Comments

Françoise Gilot is depicted in the "manteau polonais", the coat that Picasso had brought her back from his trip with Paul Éluard to the peace congress in Poland in August/September 1948.

Picasso had begun the lithograph in December 1948 in the Mourlot studios in Paris and completed it on 16 January 1949.

Erläuterungen

Dargestellt ist Françoise Gilot im "manteau polonais", dem Mantel, den Picasso ihr von seiner Reise mit Paul Éluard zum Friedenskongress in Polen im August/September 1948 mitgebracht hatte.

Picasso hatte die Lithographie im Dezember 1948 in den Ateliers Mourlot in Paris begonnen und am 16. Januar 1949 vollendet.
