The sheet slightly browned and with light-mark. Two horizontal folds outside the image. In overall good condition

Comments

Henri Matisse created a total of six oil paintings with goldfish by 1914. He later returned to the motif both in drawings in prints. He expanded the depiction to include a figure looking at the animals from close up.

Erläuterungen

Henri Matisse schuf bis 1914 insgesamt sechs Ölgemälde mit Goldfischen. Später griff er das Motiv sowohl als Zeichnung wie auch in der Graphik wieder auf. Er erweiterte die Darstellung um eine Figur, die die Tiere aus der Nähe betrachtet.
