In very fine condition
Between 1940 and 1942, Le Corbusier stayed in Ozon, a village in the Pyrenees. There he produced around 100 drawings on the theme of "La Pyrénéenne" (The Pyrenean Woman), inspired by a postcard that the artist had acquired. It depicts an unclothed woman as a bust with her head in profile. The only clothing is the traditional headdress, a red hood.
This gouache is one of a group of four preparatory works for a large enamel painting made from four enamelled plates of the same size, which the artist produced in 1959 and which were acquired by his friend, the banker Jean-Pierre de Montmollin.
We would like to thank Naïma Jornod for her kind information.

In sehr schöner Erhaltung
