The catalogue raisonné mentions that the drawing was mounted on cardboard, the drawing is now loose. Beautiful in its condition

Comments

In April 1912, Paul Klee visited Paris and, through Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler's gallery, came into contact with the cubism of Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque. His involvement with this new art movement led to new pictorial compositions with dissolved and freer elements. Here a view across a park, a bus can be seen behind the fence, on the right a lady with a pram. One of the charming Munich city views.

Erläuterungen

Im April 1912 besuchte Paul Klee Paris und kam durch die Galerie von Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler auch mit dem Kubismus von Pablo Picasso und Georges Braque in Kontakt. Die Auseinandersetzung mit dieser neuen Kunstströmung führte zu neuen Bildanlagen mit aufgelösten und freieren Setzungen. Hier Blick über einen Park, hinter dem Zaun ist ein Bus zu sehen, am rechten Bildrand eine Dame mit Kinderwagen. Eine der reizvollen Münchner Stadtansichten.
