Comments

Dodo, actually Doris Grosse (1884-after 1936), Kirchner's girlfriend from the Dresden years, posed for him as a model for this semi-nude. The lightness of his brushwork and the empty spaces, which the viewer has to fill in to create a spatial environment, are characteristic of the period.
