On thin wove paper (papier vélin). With creases in the handle, backed in the lower left corner. At the back side with traces of an old mounting. In good condition
In the summer of 1895, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, accompanied by Maurice Guibert, wanted to travel on board the steamer "Le Chili" from Le Havre to Bordeaux. During the journey, he discovered an unknown young fellow passenger who was accommodated in cabin no. 54. Her beauty fascinated the artist so much that, instead of sailing only as far as Bordeaux, he disembarked in Lisbon. The poster was published in an edition of approx. 1000 copies.
