The famous painting by Édouard Manet preoccupied Picasso, who was over eighty years old, as he created numerous works on canvas, paper and as linocuts on this theme. - One of the copies outside the edition of 50 numbered by the Galerie Louise Leiris, Paris, in 1963, which were intended for artists and publishers.
