Comments

All the plates of Picasso's early prints, which have gone down in art history as a result of the "Saltimbanques", were made between September 1904 and late autumn 1905. In 1913 the plates were bought by Ambroise Vollard, stowed away and printed by Louis Fort in an edition of 27 and 29 copies on Japan and 250 copies on wove paper (papier vélin).

Alle Platten der frühen Graphikblätter von Picasso, die als Folge der "Saltimbanques" in die Kunstgeschichte eingegangen sind, entstanden von September 1904 bis Spätherbst 1905. 1913 wurden die Platten von Ambroise Vollard aufgekauft, verstählt und in einer Auflage von 27 bzw. 29 Exemplaren auf Japan und 250 Exemplaren auf Velin von Louis Fort abgezogen
