Condition

On strong, cream wove paper (papier vélin). The watercolours are minimally faded, with a small lightstruck at the lower margin. In good condition

Comments

"It is good that I do not have to plague someone else to stand still [...]." (from: Cuno Amiet, In eigener Sache, in: Über die Kunst und Künstler, Bern 1948, pag. 89). Cuno Amiet painted portraits of himself throughout his life, one of his earliest at the age of 15, his last at the age of 91. In total there are probably over 200 works in a wide variety of techniques.

Zustand

Auf festem, cremefarbenem Velin. Die Aquarellfarben sind minim ausgebleicht, am unteren Blattrand mit kleinem Lichtrand. In guter Erhaltung

Cuno Amiet malte zeitlebens Bildnisse seiner selbst, eines seiner frühesten im Alter von 15, sein letztes im Alter von 91 Jahren. Insgesamt sind es wohl über 200 Werke in verschiedensten Techniken
