    Comments

The first of a total of four linocuts on the theme of "Bacchanale", which Picasso created in Cannes in November 1959. A very beautiful five-colour linocut, produced in six print runs. The ground was originally intended in green; only at the very end Picasso changed his mind, which makes the pair a little more difficult to read

From the group of approx. 20 copies of the 1960 edition of the Galerie Louise Leiris, Paris, intended for artists and publishers
