In dark brown patina, perfectly preserved
At the suggestion of Ambroise Vollard, Aristide Maillol created a series of figures after 1900, which he sold to his dealer with all rights. Vollard subsequently issued unlimited editions of the figures. As with almost all Vollard casts, the foundry stamp is missing. From 1907 and 1909 onwards, Florentin Godard was the exclusive founder of the Maillol figures. Our figure is probably also a Godard cast.
