The soft fabric is sewn in two layers on top of each other and consists of three parts joined together with two longitudinal seams; two glove-shaped pockets are attached to the back of each. The fabric is folded several times, but overall in very good condition
"Planet Sign" is the title of a performance and a performance object at the same time: two people placed at the back hold the "Planet Sign" with outstretched arms for a brief moment - according to James Lee Byars, a moment is enough for this: "Glimpse is enough". The work also exists in a larger version with a diameter of 5 metres; also called "Planet Flag" in reception, this was first presented in 1982 at the "Explorer's Club" in New York. In late summer 1982, the artist personally handed over this smaller version to the previous owners.
