On wove paper (papier vélin). As originally printed on double sheets, the separation of the sheets is visible either at the right or left margin. Partly slightly bumped at the corners and partly slightly stained in the paper.
At the end of May/beginning of June 1907 and again towards the end of July/beginning of August, Daniel Baud-Bovy, the author of the book "Vacances d'Artistes", and Giovanni Giacometti were travelling by bicycle and on foot in Ticino and neighbouring Upper Italy. The novel was published in Geneva in 1909, with 27 colour lithographs "hors-texte", 10 by Ed. Baud, 4 by L. Dunki, 2 by J. Fontanez, 10 by Giov. Giacometti and 1 by Ed. Vallet. Of the present set of 16 proofs, 10 were published in the 1909 book. 12 of the sheets, including the 6 not included in the book, are all titled by the artist in pencil

Auf Velin. Da ursprünglich auf Doppelbogen gedruckt wurde, ist die Trennung der Blätter entweder am rechten oder linken Blattrand ersichtlich. Zum Teil in den Ecken leicht bestossen und teilweise leicht fleckig im Papier
Ende Mai/Anfang Juni 1907 und nochmals gegen Ende Juli/Anfang August waren Daniel Baud-Bovy, der Autor des Buches "Vacances d'Artistes", und Giovanni Giacometti mit dem Fahrrad und zu Fuss im Tessin und im angrenzenden Oberitalien unterwegs. Der Roman wurde 1909 in Genf publiziert, mit 27 farbigen Lithographien "hors-texte", 10 von Ed. Baud, 4 von L. Dunki, 2 von J. Fontanez, 10 von Giov. Giacometti und 1 von Ed. Vallet. Von der vorliegenden Folge der 16 Probedrucke sind 10 im Buch 1909 erschienen. 12 der Blätter, u.a. auch die 6 im Buch nicht berücksichtigten, sind alle vom Künstler handschriftlich in Bleistift betitelt
