Condition

On wove paper (papier vélin), mounted in a double passepartout. With slight creases, in very good condition

Comments

The sheet, painted on both sides, was unknown until now. It can be assigned to the period from 1930 to 1937, to Soutter's so-called "Mannerist period". One side shows a representation of a woman's face, called "Ida", the other a multi-figure scene

Erläuterungen

Das beidseitig bemalte Blatt war bis anhin unbekannt. Es kann in die Zeit von 1930 bis 1937, in die sogenannte "manieristische Periode" von Soutter eingeordnet werden. Die eine Seite zeigt eine Darstellung eines Frauengesichts, als "Ida" bezeichnet, die andere eine mehrfigurige Szene
