Printed on strong wove paper (papier vélin), with watermark "MBM / J. PERRIGOT", with wide margins, very nice impression and condition

Comments

The sheet is extremely rare, Baer only mentions 5 copies in this condition, whereby the designation "épreuve faible" for this excellent print cannot be correct. There are only isolated proofs of all 6 states of this sheet, which was created in Golfe-Juan at the end of August/beginning of September 1946 in elaborate engraving work. One edition was never printed and the plate is now lost. All proofs were printed by Louis Fort. - A great rarity from the graphic oeuvre of the artist, the only graphic sheet from the so-called Antibes style of 1946

Erläuterungen

Das Blatt ist von extremer Seltenheit, in diesem Zustand werden von Baer lediglich 5 Exemplare genannt, wobei die Bezeichnung "épreuve faible" für diesen vorzüglichen Druck nicht stimmen kann. Von dem Ende August/Anfang September 1946 in Golfe-Juan in aufwendiger Stichelarbeit geschaffenen Blatt gibt es von allen 6 Zuständen nur vereinzelte Probedrucke. Eine Auflage ist nie gedruckt worden und die Platte ist heute verschollen. Alle Probedrucke wurden von Louis Fort abgezogen. - Eine grosse Seltenheit aus dem graphischen Werk des Künstlers, das einzige graphische Blatt aus dem sogenannten Antibes-Stil von 1946
