Condition

On wove paper (papier vélin), with wide margins, watermarked "UMBRIA ITALIA" with crown and "PM FABRIANO". Clean condition, the platemark on the left side showing through and a small tear in the corner below, both backed with thin Japan paper. Traces of an old mounting on the reverse

Giorgio Morandi is best known for his still lifes, which are characterised by a minimal and carefully considered composition. The still life in this case consists of a group of pots depicted in front of a fence

Auf Velin, mit breitem Rand, mit Wasserzeichen "UMBRIA ITALIA" mit Krone und "PM FABRIANO". Sauber in der Erhaltung, die Plattenkante links durchschlagend und in der Ecke darunter kleiner Einriss, beides mit dünnem Japan hinterlegt. Rückseitig Spuren einer alten Montierung
