    Comments

Ulrich Meinherz, head of the Josephsohn boiler house, confirmed to the owner in a letter dated October 2012 that only the one cast of the present work exists. The plaster original was apparently destroyed by the casting process, as was often the case at the time in the Ticino foundry, where moulds were not made with silicone. Under these circumstances, Josephsohn had helped himself by using the first cast whenever possible for the next one. The present work is a rare and unique piece.
