Clean and fresh in colour, in the outermost margin minimal light margin, with four small pinholes in the four corners, the left one torn out at the top.

Comments

The sheet belongs to a larger group of pastel works created by the artist at the beginning of the 1940s; a very similar pastel is in the collection of the Brücke Museum (Schmidt-Rottluff estate). We thank Christiane Remm from the Karl and Emy Schmidt-Rottluff Foundation for the information.

Das Blatt gehört zu einer grösseren Gruppe von Pastellarbeiten, die der Künstler zu Beginn der 40er Jahre geschaffen hat, ein ganz ähnliches Pastell befindet sich in der Sammlung des Brücke-Museums (Nachlass Schmidt-Rottluff).
