Comments

An early print before steelfacing, the plate corners still rectangular. The remarque inked in Bister. The sheet is a proof; the steel faced plate was eventually used as an illustration for Ovid's Metamorphoses

Ein früher Abzug vor der Verstählung, die Plattenecken noch rechtwinklig. Die Remarque in Bister eingefärbt. Das Blatt ist ein Probedruck; die verstählte Platte wurde schliesslich als Illustration für Ovids Metamorphosen verwendet
