Comments

The present work consists of two parts. In the upper two-thirds the artist depicts a still life with bottles and glasses, in the lower third he has depicted himself with his back to the viewer. It is probably a frivolous scene in Brazil, when he was a guest of the coffee baron Paulo Prado at his hacienda.

Erläuterungen

Die vorliegende Arbeit besteht aus zwei Teilen. In den oberen zwei Dritteln stellt der Künstler ein Stillleben mit Flaschen und Gläsern dar, im unteren Drittel hat er sich selbst mit dem Rücken zum Betrachter dargestellt. Es dürfte sich um eine frivole Szene in Brasilien handeln, als er zu Gast beim Kaffeebaron Paulo Prado auf dessen Hacienda weilte
